Extended Story

Early Life & Roots

Born and raised in Kitutu Chache in the verdant highlands of Kisii, Sev’s values were shaped by family, faith and community. He grew up seeing farmers and small traders work tirelessly to provide for their families. Those experiences instilled a spirit of Umoja – togetherness – and a belief that enterprise and compassion go hand in hand.

Education & Early Career

After completing his basic education in Kisii, Sev moved to Nairobi to study business and logistics management. He began his career in the freight industry, learning the intricacies of supply chains, warehousing and distribution. His enterprises expanded into light manufacturing and value‑addition, creating jobs and promoting Kenyan goods across the region. According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the manufacturing sector grew by 2.5% in Q3 2025, and Sev believes that with the right policies and partnerships the sector can deliver even more decent jobs for young people.

Turning Towards Community

Through initiatives like the Youth Enterprise Lab and school partnerships, he channels resources and expertise back to his home community while remaining seat‑agnostic and focused on service.

Career & Business Track Record

Why Community Service Matters

Sev’s vision goes beyond balance sheets. Having witnessed both opportunity and hardship, he believes business leaders must be community partners. In Kenya, youth unemployment is alarmingly high – estimates suggest up to 67% of young people aged 15–34 are unemployed. SMEs already employ most Kenyans, but they need mentorship, finance and market access. By focusing on skills, enterprise and inclusivity, Sev helps build a future where every young person can thrive.

His community work is guided by humility, integrity and respect for institutions. He emphasises that he is not campaigning for any office; instead, he works collaboratively with local leaders, churches, youth groups and businesses to improve lives in Kisii and beyond.
